Cherryland Electric Cooperative is one of thirteen cooperatives located in the state of Michigan, and is a non-profit company which has provided electrical service to local area customers for over 50 years. From a humble beginning of 69 members in 1938, Cherryland now services over 24,000 customers in a six county area which stretches from the northern tip of Michigan's little finger 100 miles south to the middle edge of Lake Michigan. Governed by a nine person board of directors, democratically elected from its members, Cherryland Electric is the fourth largest distribution cooperative located in Michigan with over 1,600 miles of underground and overhead line. |
